BEFORE AN OCCURRENCE

Warning signs of a landslide
  Water seepage and breaks in the ground
  Bulges or cracks in the ground
  Earth movement
  Cracks in foundation or concrete
  Cracks or fissures on walls or pillars
  Damage to water and gas pipes or underground sewer
  Tilting of telephone and electricity poles and fences
  Shift in row of fences
  Sinking of road
  Jammed or stuck doors or windows

Preparations
  Obtain information on the surroundings
  Plant ground cover on slopes
  Build retaining walls or make water channels

DURING AN OCCURRENCE

  Inform the authorities immediately
  Alert your family members and neighbours
  Evacuate immediately when the situation becomes dangerous or when directed by the authorities

Indoors
  Remain in the building
  Take cover under a table, chair or other sturdy furniture

Outdoors
  Avoid landslide areas and the routes through them
  Head for high ground away from danger
  Upon sighting movement of water, earth, rocks and vegetation, immediately take cover behind plants with thick foliage
  If left with little choice of escape, immediately curl into a tight ball and protect your head, ready for any eventuality

AFTER AN OCCURRENCE

  Stay away from the landslide area
  Check the condition of your family members and neighbours, give first aid to the injured
  Assist your neighbours, the infirm and the disabled
  Listen to radio announcements
  Beware that flooding could occur after the landslide
  Examine the foundation of the house and the surrounding land
  Report any damage to public utilities
  Consult an expert to rebuild your house or the building at the same site
