Civil Defense Volunteers

Civil Defense Volunteers are civilians who have registered as Civil Defense members at any existing Civil Defense office and have :-

• Successfully completed the basic course and obtained a certificate
• Given a Civil Defense body number/membership number
• Studying Civil Defense

• The duty of Civil Defense is to train civilians in the face of disasters/operations either before, during or after war/peace.
• Perform rescue tasks during disaster/rescue operations.
• Helping the duties of the Civil Defense which was established on May 20, 1995 at that time the permanent staff was less.

• The conditions to be a member of the Civil Defense Volunteers

  1. Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.
  2. Healthy body and no physical disability.
  3. Academic approval of at least SRP/LCE/PMR.
  4. Not joining other uniformed bodies.
  5. Interested in volunteering.

• Learn how to do water rescue and how to dive (SCUBA)
• Opportunity to get certificates of skills and courses attended
• Can learn to communicate through Radio Set (Communication)
• Gain knowledge on how to manage disasters
• Learn how to operate equipment
• Learn how to dress in uniform
• Can learn the art of self-defense
• Can learn to read maps and compasses
• Be able to learn the Basics of First Aid
• Can learn how to do Rope Ascending and Descending
• Learn how to do Breathing Apparatus (BA SET)
• Gain knowledge about life endeavors
• Can learn the basics of firefighting
• Be able to learn the basics of rescue
• Get daily knowledge like a medic in dealing with accident situations

• Get free treatment at the Government Hospital
• Earn service allowance
• Get a free Uniform
• Receive annual bounty.
• Officers and members can serve throughout Malaysia because Civil Defense Offices/Branch are located throughout Malaysia

Applications can be made online through the Civil Defense Voluntary Member Registration System (SiSPAL) which can be found on the front page of the Malaysian Civil Defense Department website.
