Information Technology Branch
The Information Technology Branch has been fully staffed using the newly approved staffing by the central agency in the overall reorganization of the Department’s organizational structure. Before the new staffing was placed, the Information Technology Branch was established on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis using the existing staffing while waiting for the newly approved staffing. With this new staffing, it is hoped that it will be able to assist the management to provide the best possible support services for the ‘core business’ of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force.

ICT as an enabler of strengthening the capability and credibility of Civil Defense.
Objective
Improving management efficiency through quality and effective ICT services, as well as implementing a culture of ICT use among its staff to support the achievement of the Department’s Objectives and Vision.
Function
- Review, plan and implement the department’s ICT strategic plan, including integrated ICT planning for all departments within it.
- Review, coordinate and improve systems and software to support ‘core business’ and department management.
- Ensure the implementation of ICT initiatives in the department and the divisions under it in accordance with the ICT master plan, policies, guidelines and regulations that have been set.
- Planning, managing and providing ICT facilities by completing ICT hardware and software requirements to meet the needs of the department.
- Implement and maintain ICT security as determined by the National Digital Department within the framework of the ICT security policy of General Circular No. 3/2000.
- Planning, implementing training and forming IT literate and skilled department staff.
- Assist and provide advice and consultation services related to the use of ICT to all department staff.
- Be the secretary to the ICT Technical Master Committee as well as other JPM ICT Project Committees.
- Serve as the secretariat for the APM ICT steering committee (JPICT).
- Coordinate, support and assist users in the implementation of systems and software under the Electronic Government (EG) Project such as e-Procurement, GFMAS, HRMIS and so on.
Client Charter
We promise to provide support services in the field of Information Technology efficiently, effectively and professionally as follows :-
- Respond to ICT complaints within 24 hours and resolution actions will be provided within 3 working days.
- Manage the technical evaluation of the procurement of ICT equipment within a period not exceeding 1 month for the quotation process.
- Ensuring that the APM portal page is always updated at all times.
- Attend technology update programs from time to time.
- Provide ICT advisory services within 1 week from the request being received.
- Ensure APM ICT services always operate well at least 90% uptime.
- Plan, implement and maintain the infrastructure and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system every 6 months.
- Manage, monitor and implement government ICT projects such as the MyGov.Net Network, EG Applications, NG999 and so on.
