Tunas Pertahanan Awam (TUSPA)
Through the authority of the Malaysian Civil Defense Force Act, Act 221, Section 2B (h), Letter of Approval from the Co-Curriculum and Arts Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia KPM.600-14/1/19 Vol. 13 (65) dated 21 August 2017 and Letter of expansion of establishment by the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) PA.BPA.600-1/1/11(33) dated 16 October 2017, the Civil Defense Branch was established and expanded to Schools Ministry of Education Malaysia and became one of the uniformed body curriculum programs for Year 4 to Year 6 students. Before the establishment of TUSPA, the APM only implemented the Civil Defense Primary School Safety Awareness Program (PROKSPA).
Tunas Pertahanan Awam (TUSPA) Objective
To give birth to the community especially students who are excellent, disciplined, united and skilled based on the National Education Philosophy as well as students who are knowledgeable in aspects of public safety and defense in line with Section 2B (h) of the Malaysian Civil Defense Force Act, Act 221.
Tunas Pertahanan Awam (TUSPA) Membership
Registration to become a member of Tunas APM is subject to the following conditions:
- Malaysian citizens
- Primary school students between Year 4 to Year 6.*
- Not joining any other uniformed team.
*Tunas APM membership starting from Year 3 is allowed if the school’s uniformed body activities start from Year 3.
Three objectives are prioritized, namely knowledge, skills and values. The training curriculum is conducted based on the following 8 themes:
